Michael Jackson dies at age 50

I didn’t want to be writing about this at all, but I almost felt compelled to do it.
Most of you are probably waking up to the sad news that Michael Jackson died yesterday in his home in Los Angeles, USA. As a singer, musician and songwriter, I can say that there are only a handful of artists that have inspired me to do what I do… one of them is certainly Michael Jackson.
I’d like to this this opportunity to send all of our thoughts and prayers to his family and friends around the world. I’d also like to ask everyone reading this post to keep ‘on point’ and not digress to the scandals and controversy that have surrounded him over his career.
The reason I feel it’s important to make this post is because Michael has written and performed some of the greatest popular music of our lifetime. As a songwriter, despite what genre of music you’re into, it’s hard to deny the impact that this man has made on popular music.
I’d like to remember him for his amazing ability to write, produce and perform his material in a way that will probably never be replicated… at least not in my lifetime.
Rest in peace Michael Jackson.
Please leave your comments at the bottom.

I must be honest, and say that I never really listened to his music very much. But you can’t ignore him. He is one of “those” people.
You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them,
disbelieve, glorify or vilify them.
About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them.
Because they change things.
They invent. They imagine. They heal.
They explore. They create. They inspire.

I don’t believe his music and style will be matched in the near future, if ever. Growing up with the music of his entire family, I know how much his songs affected people. Our age difference is only 2 years. His dance steps, are still being duplicated by many people.
At times, I disagreed with his personal life style, but that’s not for me to judge. He had insight, talent, and a great singing voice. I feel, that saying he was the “pop” icon of the U.S, if not the world, would not be stretching the truth. I’ll miss all his new material that may have been written.
My condolensces to his entire family.

Let’s keep this all in perspective.
Michael was a great singer composer and dancer. He was a famous for his dancing as much as his singing. His commercial appeal is undeniable. But as far a influencing the musical landscape he was undeniable great but not as influential as Elvis, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, or Jon Bon Jovi. Those artists influenced the way other musicians wrote composed and played music.
Michaels act was as much about dancing as musical. But a talent that can’t be denied and in his era of dance clubs he was great.
But let’s keep it in perspective as far as musical influence goes
June 26th, 2009 at 12:16 pm
Well, I never really listened to his music and so I wasn’t a fan of him, but someone who has been this successful and like a legend, can’t be ignored. He’s been an amazing muscian and songwriter and everything, alone that he inspired so many people all over the world…
Rest in peace Micheal Jackson!

When I Heard The News I Just Collapsed, I could Not Believe That Such A Big Part Of Myself Died. Still When I Hear His Music I Cry, And I Never Cry.
He Could Not Live In Peace Here, I Hope He Will Find His Peace In Heaven.
I Will Miss You My Friend.!

Continued……………….
Let’s keep this all in perspective.

Michaels act was as much about dancing as musical. But a talent that can’t be denied and in his era of dance clubs he was great.
But let’s keep it in perspective as far as musical influence goes
Michael never played and instrument and probably was aided by composers and songwriters as well as being influenced by his family.
Michael was more the singing diva dancer and american idol performer not
as great a musician as the others………Motown product rather than unique musically.
Where Michael was unique and really broke new ground was the dancing and theatrical genius. Much like Prince.
But Elvis Bob Dylan The Beatles and The Rolling Stones were much bigger influences to Rock and Pop Music.

To many, it was a very shocking news this morning, but God knows best why at this time. He is gone peacefully I believe, being where he deserves now. “May the blessings of God continue to be with him”. Physically, he is gone, but his music remains for a long long time to come.
“The world loves you Michael but the Creator loves you more”.
To the bereaved family, my condolences.

Michael really knew how to rock the stage and the crowd, much respect and thanks to his creative spirit and massive inspiration.
RIP Michael.
They’ll be dancing in heaven tonight!

I have one word for the boy-BAD! No other Artist in the history of music period has ever had an album do what “Thriller” did! Musicians from the glory days of the past are all great and should not be compared for what they did or didn’t do! When we start judging, lets start with “The Man in The Mirror”! Peace!

June 26th, 2009 at 1:42 pm
Like many of us I never met Michael but walked the same planet we call earth, shared the same sky, and looked at the same sun and moon.
They say that the very best make it look easy. With being the best they ask of themselves the ultimate. Being the best he sacrificed the ultimate.
Would he do it all again? - Yes in the blink of an eyelid.
RIP
June 26th, 2009 at 2:04 pm
Yeah, I miss Michael Jackson :-(, even though I wasn’t really a fan, just a non-hater. Yeah, he wrote some of the greatest hits and his songwriting style was just totally awesome.

May Michael Jackson find the peace in death that the world would not allow him in life. May the God of us all place perfect peace in your dear soul and comfort your family and friends, especially your dearly beloved children.

I cried when I heard the news. He was and forever will be a huge inspiration to me. Even though I didn’t grow up with him, I still think he was an amazing musician. His music and lyrics were undeniably incredible. He inspires my older sister too. She’s a dancer. So, he meant a lot in me and my sister’s life. His passing on hurt us deeply.
We send our condolences to his children and family.
Rest in peace, Michael. You will be missed.
June 26th, 2009 at 3:34 pm
Michael Jackson was such an inspiration to people. I heard the news that he had died from my boyfriend who lives in America (I’m in the Uk). I’d been rejecting everyone’s comments saying ‘hes dead’ because it had not yet been confirmed, so I asked my boyfriend to watch CNN just to keep me updated…and when he told me Michael had died I couldn’t control myself, I ran downstairs and switched CNN on to see the horrible news. I am absolutely devastated, I couldn’t stop myself from crying last night. However, I did light a candle for him and let it burn through till 4am this morning
Rest In Peace Michael <3 x
June 26th, 2009 at 3:38 pm
I was a tween in the Thriller days, so it goes without saying that I loved Michael. His influence on my generation was unbelievable. I distinctly remember watching the news during that time… they had done a world wide poll and said that other than Jesus, Michael Jackson was the most well known name in the world. It was said that even back in the hills where people didn’t have technology his name was known. That boggled my mind, and it has stuck with me all these years.
The really amazing thing though is what I see in this generation. I’m an adult now with three teenage daughters. I haven’t played his music for them over the years… I actually don’t even own one of his albums. But with YouTube coming into our home this year, my daughters just gravitated to Michael’s videos. He had became one of their favorites! I had so much fun watching his videos with them this month. Two days ago my 16 year old daughter called me over to see that one of the boys in her class had the Thriller video posted on his facebook. She said “see mom, all of my friends love Michael Jackson”. Wow… I think that says it all.
June 26th, 2009 at 3:58 pm
Michael jackson was a wonderful guy no matter some people thought of him.He was a insperation to a lot of people and he will never be forgotten no matter what he will always be the king of pop. That,s all i have to say.

June 26th, 2009 at 4:16 pm
History of music. He’s influenced so many people singing (including) me with his unique style. A true legend. I feel sad today. You may not think much of him as a man (although I think he’s been a victim of a system) but his contribution to music can’t be denied. Rest in peace Michael, you’re gone too soon.
June 26th, 2009 at 4:17 pm

June 26th, 2009 at 4:21 pm
It deeply saddens me over the death of an iconic legend. MJ helped to transcend the music industry to where it is today. He is a transnational iconic LEGEND. I recall during a visit to Korea over 3 years ago, I entered a taxi cab and the driver gestured and in Korean said he did not speak English. I asked if he could turn on the radio and he popped in a CD of MJ, “Thriller”, he started speaking English repeatedly saying “Michael Jackson”, Michael Jackson”, we love Michael Jackson”….
With MJ’s music and his personality he was able to mend racial divide!!! That is what we should always remember about him. His remarkable ability to move hearts and mountains through his artistic abilities!!! For that, I will always love him!!!
June 26th, 2009 at 4:31 pm
I have to say thank you for making a Michael Jackson blog for us to say what we want about a man who was and still is in my book a genius and was destined to be great God touched Michael at birth everything Michael did was to perfection and no one can do that unless touched by higher power. I didn’t know Michael personally, but I must say i love him, he has been thru some much in his personal life and failed to reelize his human and has feelings to his gets and got broken, we can never feel what he has thru but now he can rest in peace. God tell Michael he had a freind in me writing this, my eyes tears with hurt but I know he’s longer suffering may he rest in peace. And God bless you to for all the tips on song writing it has helped me. Peace-in-love to all.
June 26th, 2009 at 4:34 pm
I just can’t stop shading tears even as I write now, It was Princess D and now MJ, I can never stop loving them. Yes, it hurts so bad, but just like we all know it is a necessary end it will come when it will com.
To his family and fans, accept my condolence and God loves him more. RIP my brother

When I was a little girl aged 7 I was deeply in love with Michael. My mother used to tell me he’d stop ageing and wait till I grow up so we can get married. Of course after time I stopped believing that but my love for him has kept growing and everything that has been horribly said about him… I chose not to take notice of. He went through a lot of hassle, hurt and pain and was waiting to feel loved again, from his fans on stage. I still can’t believe he’s gone, and in some way he hasn’t gone. I hope he can see how much we all loved him all along. xxx
June 26th, 2009 at 5:46 pm
I am so terribly sorry. I loved Elvis as a person and a performer, and I love Michael Jackson as much.
I remember in my early years how I listened and saw his concerts on dvds, and then went out to dance and try to impersonate some of his style.
I am mourning now, this is difficult. We are many that are bleading in our hearts.
I will never forgive you Michael… See you in the Eternity, peace to thou spirit

He was so multitalented and very much deserved the prosperity he gained as an artist. I think of his family during this very trying time and have a prayer in my heart for each loved one that he has left behind, as they not only lost a brother, but also a son and a father. Being the baby of his family, I think of how they remember him at the beginning of his life. May his family find the healing that they need, and may MJ’s soul rest in peace.
June 26th, 2009 at 6:19 pm
Shamir,
Thank you for posting these videos; they really took me back in time when I was in junior high. At the time, my brother used to wear one of those jackets with all the zippers on it like MJ, and I wore a Michael Jackson t-shirt to school

June 26th, 2009 at 8:03 pm
Micheal fullfilled his artistic destiny in the most brilliant way but at the same time he mirrored back to us the danger of falling prey to our unresolved dark side & this is why he was a true icon for our time. I wish that one day soon art will be integrated at the center of the educational & cultural process so that becoming a true human being will mean making a work of art of our total self, not only a profession. I’m sure it was Micheal’s dream one way or another, beyond his personal hardships. I prefer remembering the being behind the artistry & public persona sure that when all is said & done, we will see that he left us a great testament & heritage. RIP
June 26th, 2009 at 8:27 pm
Words just cannot describe how devastated I am at this time, and even tears can’t justify.
His music, dance, songwriting and skill was simply amazing and can never be replicated. He has inspired every aspect of music and revolutionized it forever. He has inspired people to follow their dreams. He was unique, and undisputably the greatest musician alive, and I am honored to have lived in the same generation as him. Michael Jackson’s legacy will live on for all time, and his music will surely be played in 100 years time, and more. Rest in Peace, I love you.
June 26th, 2009 at 8:59 pm
Micheal Jackson did perform in the realm of spirituality. He was truly touched by God himself. when he did interviews he was one person. But when he was onstage HE WAS A GIANT! HE WAS ON FIRE WITH THAT UNIQUE POWER THAT WAS ANNOINTED BY GOD. I only have one thing to say…. The baddest jam he ever performed was ” Can’t let her get away!” Produced by Teddy Riley!!!!! That song was and is TOOOOOOOOOO Much! God Dammmit!!!!! I’ts Crazy!!!! NUTS!!!!! RETARDED!!!!!!! OFF THE CHAIN!!!!!!! Check it out if you can!!!!!!

Michael Jackson was my biggest inspiration.Listening to him made such an inpact inside of me. I thank God for letting him come into this world and share he’s music to all of us..may the king of musc rest in peace.
June 26th, 2009 at 9:36 pm
Sorry Ron, but you are wrong. When people like Quincy Jones and others far more qualified speak about Michael’s gift of song writing, I will take their opinion over yours. Loretta Lynn was one of the most influential country artist who wrote many songs, and she did not play an instrument. Michael was a very gifted songwriter, the artists you mentioned are wonderful as well, in their genre. Being a musician who works in many many genres in order to work, I am truly going to miss him, and was really looking forward to his new stuff, and I am sure all those artists out there who owe so much to him because of his influence, were looking to see what they could glean this time. He will be missed.
June 26th, 2009 at 9:39 pm
For those of us who had our youthful prime in the 80’s, no other artist defines those years more than Michael Jackson. Wherever you went back then, whether it was a nightclub, the beach, or just another car passing by, you were going to hear a song by Michael Jackson. What would MTV have been without those great videos. Alot of the great memories I have of those days is because of all the great songs he had that I can associate with a specific time in my life. We were not prepared for his death no more then we were prepared for Elvis’s death. Michael, thanks for the memories and may you finally be at peace.
June 26th, 2009 at 10:14 pm
A musical genius ,Icon, legend and one of my biggest influences growing up as a teen, love his music and always will.
May his music live on and may the world remember him in a positive light for the vast efforts he made to entertain us with his brilliant talent

I’m a baby boomer who dismissed Michael Jackson - until his untimely death yesterday. Because the airways and web has been saturated since then, I now realise what a GENIUS this man was with his passion for music and movement. Thankyou Michael that you and your music are still having a positive impact on others!

Im not ganna say yes I do like Micheal Jackson, cause I don’t. This is my opinoin and I dont want anyone to be appended but I think Micheal Jackson was a rude and harmful person cause of what he did. Now just cause i hate the person doset mean i dont like to listen to his music, i liked acouple of his songs but the rest meant nothing.
Not to be mean, but i dont think id like to say rip to him…..I dont like him.
June 27th, 2009 at 1:15 am
Thank you Michael for your music. You did your job here on earth and now your journey is over. Keep singing your songs in heaven and every time I see a rainbow I will think of you. Your songs had a message for all of us, but did we really understand? You poured all your energy and love into your lyrics and that’s what made you different. Love is what is needed today……we wouldn’t be in this mess if there was more love among us. Just like the song says “Gone Too Soon”. My condolences to your family and your children.

Perhaps the World learned something from this sad moment in time unlike other great entertainers MJ was uniquely diff. His changing appearance over the years and of course the ugly scandal that ment only to defame Him No matter what was or was not the truth One most significant aspect of His life is undeniable and that is His unbelievable singing, songwriting and dancing talent, that emergices more significant then the scandalous media that tried to destroy it …a talent that is also shared by His whole family and I hope they read this You cannot be that good and great if it were not given to You Younger and older are all feeling the loss of such a remarkable talent and influence We may not all have been a fan or idolized Him but NONE can take away His well deserved accomplishments and recognition. Michael Jackson was abused and and targeted his whole life. His naivety was taken advantage of grossly. He truly was ‘The King of Pop’. It cuts like a knife, he’s out of my life.

Michael Jackson was a master piece from God to mankind. He was so good in what he did. Whatever happened in his life; good or bad is for God to judge not for any man. My heart goes for his family and those precious kids he left behind. I pray God to give them the courage to bear their painful loss.

God Bless his family and children Michael was an awesome performer RIP Michael

Michael Jackson had more friends that he never knew. The outpouring of loss and love are phenomenal and are a living tribute to the man.The world has lost an incomprable artist. Unless someone was in the room at the time of his alledged offenses that he was accused of, then they should NOT judge him. There is only one judge, and we all know who that is.
As far as comparing him to another artist; that is rediculous. There was only one Michael Jackson. His ability to permeate cultural boundaries through music speaks volumes in relation to his talent.
I hope he was right with God, because I have never seen him perform and I would love to see him sing on cloud 29, surrounded by angels. May he be able to reconnect with his inner child in heaven and play forever.
To his family…my thoughts and prayers are with you. If I feel this way, I can not imagine the loss and pain you are feeling and will feel for some time. However if you believe in God, (shame on you if you don’t) turn it over to Him. Because of God and his son Jesus we can live forever and live in peace. Save me a seat in the front row Michael!!!
God bless everyone who feels his loss.

I was over-whelmed with the news and felt the saddness and heartbreak. The same feeling came over me when Elvis died. I am the same age as Michael Jackson and grew up listening to his music. I agree that we must just simply treasure how he has been a blessing to this world with his music, kindness, generosity and love. He may have had issues but who doesn’t. We must first look in the mirror beofre judging another. God is surely proud of his son he created and now welcomes him home with him in Heaven. God Bless you Michael Jackson and all you family, friends, fans and loved ones. May you rest in peace finally and let us treasure the legacy you have left behind,Amen
Sincerely, Eddie Simon Alt Country/Blues Recording Artist

Micheal was an inspiration to many including me. I wouldn’t want to sing the way i do now if it was not for his music. He was and is the King of Pop. Only he could bring such music and style to today’s generation. I will remember him. He will be the story in my heart that i will tell my children about. He will live on now and forever in my heart—in all of us.

Michael, was a very interesting person, on a mission thru his life, to make a difference, in the lives of so many of his fans.
He was unique and very special and had a lot of love in his heart, sharing his excitement of life in his music.
A friend to many. Michael, had a great big heart. He enjoyed sharing his life and his dreams, and his thoughts with so many
People and friends that he grew to appreciate.
He loved the applause from the audience when he came onto the stage and the fans made him happy. Much love was sent to him from his fans. I can see him smiling and enjoying every moment performing for them.
He gave it his best, his famous walk will never be forgotten by each one that tried to do the walk backwards. etc.
Michael was a very talented young man and his work will live on in the hearts of each of us for he truly touched the hearts of the people and left his mark of excellence every where he performed.
Michael was given so many gifts and talents at a very young age and he travel thru life giving his all to his music and his love for people.
I was shocked when we heard the news of his passing at such
a young age. I believe that he was given a glimpse of how much he was loved and this will bless his family knowing that
honor and appreciation was given to Michael. Hearing the
his friends sharing with the news how much they loved Michael and how he touched their lives and will remember him always.
His family will remember the good times they had with michael as he discovered and exercised the talents and gifts he had on
the inside of him. His gifts were many. In fact Michael
shook the world with his songs and the way he performed them. A blessing to his family.
He put all he had into his work to make the best music and write his songs that came
up out of his heart.
Life will be different for his family and
I know they will stand strong because of their faith in the lord.
mending the net that is broken due to his absence as he stepped out of this life and observed what was happening
and not being able to say good bye (yet waving and smiling as he watch his fans shares their shock that day when they heard the news. We could not see what he was doing but I heard they know but cannot communicate since they watching from another world. observing. Then later starting their new life as
the crowd from the other side” says ” look it is michael…he is
coming…and they get excited on the other side of life.
Something went wrong in his body and those that tried to
assist him felt helpless with all their efforts. They gave it
their very best….
To his mom and dad and family. bless you as you gain strength to walk down a road that you have not walk down before and will gain much understanding as you walk it day by day and you will be able to encourage others as they pass you to walk down the path of life that you just walk down recently.
a road that you have not walk down before.
You will gain strength as you are in the prayers of so many.
Talk about it. Put his pictures in an album share his
stuff and continue to make a difference every day and give yourself a year to let it get to you and after that you must let it go or you will go into a deep depression and it will be harder
to move up out of the depression. This is what I was told so I pass it to you - mom.
so think on the good times. Look at it as a puzzel,
find the answers to your questions and fill out the puzzel with the answers knowing that you and your family are strong and will stand up and come up with ways to help fulfill some of his desires and dreams
he was not able to accomplish due to his being sick.
His music will be greater, I believe, as the years pass.
Michael music, many songs will be written that will bless his fan’s. songs about this young man’s life that touched the whole world. Michael spirit - just step
out of his body into a new life. Bless you his family.
may strength be a part of your remembering how he touched
each of our lives. cherished, forever,by we the people that
loved him.

As a boy growing up with Michael Jackson´s music I am shocked, devestated and still cant bring myself to admit that the King Of Pop has gone. I feel like some of my childhood has died as well. As a child I can remember lying in bed with my walkman on listening to Michael closing my eyes and imagining that was me singing, I am sure that Michael has brought happiness to everyone around the world in different ways.
God Bless You
Thank You

To be honest, I never really listened to his music either…I’m only 13, but I do know his most popular songs such as “thriller” and “beat it.” Although I don’t know his music too well, he is still an inspiration to me, because he is one of those “it” people and everyone knows that he was an amazing musician. I want to be one of those people that everyone knows about, even 50 years from now, when kids my age now will have never have heard of songs that I may have in 10 years or so, but still might know something about my biggest song or something…That’s just amazing. Alhtouhg now I am rambling and you probobly don’t know what I’m talking about. ha-ha. R.I.P. MJ. Blessings to his family. <3

michael was the greatest entertainer of all time.He loved kids and thats why he will never ever be forgotten. There’s know one who can compare. His untimely death hurts each and everyone so much because he was such a giving person with a great big heart. there will never be another like mike.I beleave those false accusation toke the greatest entertainer from the world.BECAUSE that trial toke him away from his music the only thing he loved besides the kids. After everthing he was aquitted of all charges in our highest courts.I wish people would have given him the benefit of the doubt. rest in peace mike.

I adored Michael Jackson, he was the greatest performer and artiste, to date young performers cannot achieve what he did many years ago and they still aspire to be like him.
